December 15 ï»¿ I'm in London!!!

So it's official, I've moved to London to join my husband in this new adventure in our lives! I am sad to say goodbye to all my friends and the wonderful dancers in San Diego who I have come to know as my second family, but I am equally as excited to see what the London dance scene has to offer. I took a class at Chisenhale Dance Center with Kitty Federoc and she was absolutely lovely and talked to me for a while about the dance community here. Can't wait to get my butt into a studio again! My soul is craving movement! Wish me luck!

January 8    New Year Update.

I can't believe that I have been in London for almost a month now! Man does the time fly by during the holidays! John-John and I had an amazing relaxing two weeks together exercising, cooking, and reading and doing all the things we don't normally get to when we are both working. But now it's time to get serious and I am interviewing tomorrow to become a lifeguard! Hopefully this works out until I can find some dancing gigs! I have made some AMAZING contacts just in the last couple days so fingers crossed that some doors open up for me! I am really realizing now that I'm not dancing 24/7 how much I really LIVE for dance. I need it to be happy and fulfilled so watch out dance scene I'm coming for you!

February 19   I Got a Dancing Gig!!!

So I have gone on two auditions, the first for DV8 where they were looking for 1 male (in a room of 50 incredibly talented men, I obviously did not get the job), and the second for a company called Two Thirds Sky. And I landed the audition for Two Thirds Sky!!! I am on top of the world and can't believe my luck getting my second audition. It is a fully paid gig and the performance is going to be held in a CASTLE. Shut the front door I can't explain how freaking excited I am to get started on this project! Time to get my butt into shape! ;)

January 27    2016 Update.

Man 2016 has already been a whirlwind! Ever since moving back from London it's basically been go go go. I got to work with the incredible Keith Johnson up at UCLA, I've set new work on the amazing kids at El Camino High School, I started teaching Contemporary 3 at the Malashock School of Dance, and I've been performing like crazy! We're going into the second weekend of performances for Malashock Signatures and this show is kick-butt. I mean I *literally* almost die after every performance cause it's so intense. But there's nothing better than getting to share the stage with some of my favorite people!

August 7      Moved to Oakland
John and I moved to Oakland! I have to say this was the hardest move away from San Diego by far. Each time I say goodbye I realize more and more how much certain people mean to me and how much their presence feeds my soul. But of course it is always "see you later" right? Anywho we've been getting settled into our new place, John went straight to work as soon as we got here and he's loving it! I've been applying for tons of jobs and really hope some dance auditions pop up soon! Can't wait to get back into class!
